General Motors to equip all 2027 EVs with native NACS ports

General Motors is transitioning its entire 2027 model-year electric vehicle lineup to include native North American Charging Standard (NACS) ports. This change allows drivers of Chevrolet, Cadillac, and GMC electric vehicles to plug directly into compatible Tesla Superchargers and other NACS fast-charging networks without the need for a DC charging adapter.

The 2027 lineup includes several models such as the Cadillac Escalade IQ, Lyriq, and Optiq; the Chevrolet Bolt EV, Blazer EV, Equinox EV, and Silverado EV; and the GMC Hummer EV Pickup, Hummer EV SUV, and Sierra EV. While the 2026 Cadillac Optiq and the upcoming 2027 Chevrolet Bolt have already transitioned, most other 2026 GM EVs still utilize the CCS1 port and require a $275 adapter to access NACS infrastructure.

To further streamline the ownership experience, GM is integrating its Energy Pass feature into the MyChevrolet, MyCadillac, and MyGMC apps, allowing drivers to manage payments across multiple charging networks through a single interface.
