General Rahim Ademi reflects on military conflict with Ratko Mladić

Following the death of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić at the age of 84 in a Hague detention hospital, former Yugoslav People's Army officer turned Croatian Army commander Rahim Ademi has reflected on their military confrontations during the war in Dalmatia.

Ademi described the defense of Šibenik as one of the most significant victories for the Croatian Army. He detailed how his forces organized the seizure of the Rogoznica barracks to secure heavy weaponry and artillery, which allowed them to repel Mladić’s forces and prevent the division of Dalmatia. Ademi characterized Mladić’s military conduct as targeting innocent civilians rather than demonstrating true soldierly courage.
