General Ramírez Vice Mayor faces resignation demand over violence allegations

Cesar Schanzenbach, a councilman for La Libertad Avanza in General Ramírez, has submitted a resolution to the Deliberative Council demanding the resignation of Vice Mayor Carlos ‘Tito’ Troncoso.

The motion follows public allegations of gender-based violence involving the Vice Mayor. The resolution describes the incident as a “severe domestic altercation with harmful consequences” and asserts that the events have compromised the moral and ethical standing required for public office.

The councilman’s proposal argues that Troncoso’s continued presence in office is unsustainable and constitutes an “unacceptable institutional setback for the democratic values of this municipality.” The resolution seeks to uphold institutional dignity and the rule of law by requesting Troncoso’s “unshakeable resignation” due to a manifest loss of moral suitability for his public functions.
