General Treviño: 7 killed in clash with security forces

A violent confrontation between security forces and armed civilians in General Treviño, Nuevo León, resulted in seven suspected criminals killed and two others detained. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon during strategic intelligence and patrol operations conducted by Fuerza Civil in coordination with the Mexican Army (SEDENA).

According to official reports, the armed group opened fire on authorities upon noticing their presence. Security forces repelled the attack, which led to the seizure of seven firearms, ammunition, and tactical equipment. Two vehicles used by the suspects were destroyed by fire, which authorities attributed to the transport of flammable materials within the units.

The clash triggered the activation of 'Operativo Muralla,' a security strategy involving Fuerza Civil, the Mexican Army, and the National Guard. While security personnel emerged uninjured, the local municipal government canceled scheduled Independence Day celebrations in the municipality due to the security situation.
