Generali announces major organizational restructuring

Generali is implementing a major organizational restructuring to streamline decision-making and prepare for its 2028–2030 strategic cycle. The plan, approved by the Board of Directors and proposed by Group CEO Philippe Donnet, involves the discontinuation of the General Manager role.

Effective November 2, 2026, Group Deputy CEO Giulio Terzariol will expand his responsibilities to include Global Investment Management, Group Operations, Group Marketing & Customer, and Group Security. He will also oversee the Redion Group platform and Banca Generali. Additionally, Group Chief Transformation Officer Cécile Paillard will expand her remit to include Sustainability and, starting in 2027, Insurance M&A.

From January 1, 2027, the company will reorganize its international insurance markets into five macro-regions reporting to Terzariol: Western Europe & Latin America, Italy & Global Corporate & Commercial, Germany, Asia, and Austria & Central-Eastern Europe. This restructuring aims to address industry challenges such as Solvency II regulatory changes, climate risk, and artificial intelligence integration.
