Generali Gyerek Sziget offers free family program on Budapest's Hajógyári Island

The Generali Gyerek Sziget festival ran from June 19‑21 on Budapest’s Hajógyári Island, providing a free weekend of family‑friendly activities. Opening events featured the Superar children’s choir, a performance by Majorka Theatre, and a concert by Halász Judit. Subsequent days included concerts by Lóca, Belvárosi Betyár, Kaláka, Apacuka, Kámfor Puppet Theatre and Kiskalász, as well as a community storytelling project called “Hajógyári-sziget meséje" where children added characters and settings to a collective tale.

The program emphasized nature and health, offering workshops such as a “Secret Garden” planting session, a nature‑focused relaxation cabin, health‑screening buses, and a financial‑literacy game on money management. Additional attractions comprised an animal‑petting area, a giant inflatable castle, treasure‑hunt games, and a mini‑driving course by Chery to teach traffic safety. The event was organized by Generali in partnership with local cultural and charitable groups.
