Generali Investments launches tokenized money market fund class

Generali Investments has introduced a tokenized share class for an existing money market fund, marking a move toward utilizing Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) for asset management.

The initiative begins with the Generali Money Market Fund, managed by Generali Asset Management and domiciled in Luxembourg. Instead of relying solely on traditional administrative systems, the fund uses digital register technology where each share is represented by a digital token.

Initially, this tokenized share class is restricted to selected companies within the Generali Group. The company intends for this to be the first step in developing a broader range of tokenized investment opportunities for external institutional investors and private clients in the future.
