Generalitat and Tarragona leaders agree on metropolitan legal framework

The Generalitat de Catalunya and the Association for the Metropolitan Impulse of Camp de Tarragona have agreed to advance the legal framework for a specific metropolitan model. This initiative aims to improve institutional coordination and increase the region's capacity for influence.

During a meeting between the Minister of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau, and local mayors, the Catalan government expressed institutional support for the project. The government intends to provide the necessary technical resources to facilitate the development of this model with maximum speed. The strategic importance of the Camp de Tarragona region was highlighted due to its economic, industrial, and tourism activities, as well as its key infrastructure, including the Port of Tarragona and Reus Airport.
