Generalitat seeks land for temporary classrooms in Orihuela

The Generalitat is searching for a plot of land independent of the Orihuela City Council to install prefabricated classrooms for the CEIP Virgen de la Puerta school. The facility was closed due to structural risks, leading to the relocation of 302 students to the Nuestra Señora de Monserrate de Molins and Nuestra Señora del Pilar de La Campaneta schools.

Families and parent associations have organized protests and peaceful sit-ins to demand solutions and express frustration over the sudden and unplanned nature of the relocation. Education Department sources stated that the transfer is provisional until the original facilities can be rehabilitated. The department is currently evaluating several options for the new site to begin installation as soon as possible.
