Generalitat buys RACC headquarters in Barcelona for €75.5 million

The Government of Catalonia has signed an agreement to purchase the RACC mobility services headquarters in Barcelona for €75,510,000. The deal was finalized by Economy and Finance Minister Alícia Romero and RACC President Josep Mateu.

The property, located between Avenida Diagonal and Albert Bastardas, covers 36,699 square meters of offices and parking. The purchase price will be paid in four interest-free annual installments between 2027 and 2030. During this period, RACC will retain use of the facilities while seeking a new location closer to the city center.

This acquisition is a key component of the Clínic-UB Health Campus project, a strategic initiative aimed at transforming Barcelona's southern entrance. The massive development, which involves an estimated total investment of €1.7 billion, is expected to be operational by 2035. The campus will include a new Hospital Clínic, the University of Barcelona's Faculties of Medicine, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, and Food Sciences, as well as various research and scientific facilities.

This follows a previous agreement in January where the government approved the acquisition of University of Barcelona sports service properties on Avenida Diagonal for €135.25 million. Like the RACC agreement, the university will maintain its activities at those sites until 2030, when construction is scheduled to begin.
