Generalitat Valenciana allocates €150,000 for Colegiata restoration

The Generalitat Valenciana has begun the process to grant 150,000 euros to the Gandia City Council to fund rehabilitation works on the north facade of the Colegiata. This subsidy, announced in July, is included in the 2026 regional budgets as part of initiatives to combat depopulation and promote territorial cohesion.

Work on the north facade began in June to address issues with humidity, leaks, and stone detachments. The intervention aims to prevent material deterioration and ensure the safety of the building and its visitors. This new funding follows previous regional contributions, including 144,000 euros granted in 2025, approximately 15,899 euros for the Trinidad sculptural group, and 9,000 euros for the Colegiata Master Plan.

Vice President José Díez previously highlighted the regional government's commitment to preserving the temple. The current works are expected to be completed before the Fira i Festes de Gandia takes place this year.
