Generalitat Valenciana launches program to combat depopulation

The Generalitat Valenciana has completed the first edition of its Intergenerational Identity Program in Municipalities at Risk of Depopulation. This initiative aims to combat demographic challenges by strengthening the sense of belonging and local identity in small towns across the three provinces of the Valencian Community.

The program focuses on creating links between generations by using the knowledge and traditions of elderly residents to educate younger populations. By involving children in learning about local history, customs, and traditions, the project seeks to preserve cultural heritage that might otherwise disappear due to depopulation.
