Generalitat Valenciana signs 160,000 euro media support agreements

The Generalitat Valenciana has signed several collaboration agreements totaling 160,000 euros with eight professional associations and entities within the communication sector. The initiative aims to support local journalism, promote professional training, and enhance media literacy.

According to Belén Ríos, the General Director of Institutional Communication, these agreements address the profound transformations in the industry caused by technological changes and new information consumption habits. The funding will support projects focused on professional updates, specifically regarding artificial intelligence, digital strategies, and audiovisual communication.

Additional objectives include combating disinformation through social media initiatives for students, holding conferences on local journalism, and recognizing professional achievements. The participating organizations include the Associació de Periodistes d’Alacant, AdComunica, the Union of Valencian Journalists, the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, and several other regional media and professional associations.
