GENERAMMA festival to host Spanish premiere of ‘Silenced’ documentary

The GENERAMMA film festival, organized by the Asociación Andaluza de Mujeres de los Medios Audiovisuales (AAMMA), will host the Spanish premiere of the documentary ‘Silenced’ at the Teatro Moderno in Chiclana on September 18.

Directed by Emmy winner Selina Miles, ‘Silenced’ examines how defamation lawsuits have been used globally to silence survivors of sexual violence and abuse following the #MeToo movement. The film features international human rights lawyer Jennifer Robinson and includes the case of actress Amber Heard. The documentary is based on the book ‘How many women?’ by Robinson and Keio Yoshida.

Additionally, the festival will screen ‘Llueve sobre Babel’, the debut film by Colombian director Gala del Sol. Set in a nightclub in Cali, Colombia, the film explores themes of identity, guilt, and death through a choral narrative. The production is a co-production between Colombia, Spain, and the United States.
