Generation Deutschland rejects AfD calls to exit Euro and Schengen

Generation Deutschland, the youth organization of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, has expressed disagreement with the parent party's official stance regarding the Euro and the Schengen Area.

Jean-Pascal Hohm, leader of Generation Deutschland, stated that the organization does not seek a German exit from the Eurozone. Instead, the group aims to address what it describes as "significant structural flaws" in the Euro system through reform. A draft declaration to be discussed at a federal congress in Magdeburg suggests the group is open to proposals that create stability without abandoning European economic unity.

Additionally, the youth group distanced itself from AfD leader Alice Weidel’s proposal to withdraw Germany from the Schengen Agreement. While Weidel has advocated for closing borders to address migration concerns, Hohm stated that Generation Deutschland wants Germany to remain part of the Schengen Area.
