Generation Z Faces Low Pay in Portugal and AI‑Driven Work Pressure in Brazil
A Randstad Research report on Portugal’s labour market found that 93.4% of Generation Z workers consider their salaries unfair relative to the cost of living, with more than 40% of net pay spent on housing and 56.2% still living with family. Over a quarter hold multiple jobs, and 27.2% would reject a higher‑pay offer that does not allow remote work. Around 72.8% of these workers use artificial‑intelligence tools daily, reporting a direct boost to productivity.
In Brazil, a Gallup survey revealed that 48% of Generation Z employees see AI as a risk rather than a benefit at work. Concerns centre on increased performance pressure, comparison with machine speed, and unclear usage policies. Experts advise leaders to ensure transparency, provide training, and set limits on AI deployment to maintain trust and reduce anxiety among young staff.
