Generation Z faces work‑life balance focus and heightened digital fraud risk in Spain
Generation Z, people born between 1995 and 2005, is described as ultra‑connected, hypersensitive and keen on preserving personal well‑being. The cohort prioritises work‑life balance, seeks meaning in their jobs and often resists demanding, burnout‑prone workplace models.
A TransUnion study finds that in Spain this generation is the most vulnerable to digital fraud. Thirty percent of Spaniards aged 18‑28 reported financial losses from online scams, with an average loss of €1,419. The most common fraud types were fake e‑commerce sites, mule schemes and vishing calls that impersonate legitimate companies. The heavy use of social media, video‑games and cryptocurrencies is cited as increasing exposure to these scams.
