Generation Z identified as highly vulnerable to digital scams
A study by data intelligence firm TransUnion reveals that Generation Z is increasingly vulnerable to digital fraud. Contrary to the common perception that older adults are the primary targets of internet scams, research suggests that younger individuals, often considered digital natives, are highly susceptible to financial losses.
In Brazil, one in three members of Generation Z reported suffering financial losses over the past year due to scams involving social media, text messages, online shopping, and Pix transfers. Experts note that while these individuals are highly proficient with technology, this familiarity can create a false sense of security, making them more vulnerable to sophisticated manipulation and social engineering tactics.
