Gen Z Prioritizes Mental Health, Flexibility and Remote Work, Survey Shows
Recent surveys of Generation Z highlight a shift toward mental‑health focus, flexible work arrangements and remote productivity. Over half of respondents say mental health is a top workplace concern and would leave a job lacking supportive policies. Flexibility, defined as personal‑day freedom, is valued by 70% of Gen Z workers, who also prefer hybrid or fully remote setups, with 53% reporting higher productivity at home.
Lifestyle trends show reduced alcohol consumption and increased fitness activity, driven by health awareness and social media influence. At the same time, many Gen Z employees struggle with corporate jargon, understanding an average of just five of 24 common phrases, which may affect confidence and career progression. Anxiety about future earnings, rising tuition costs and AI‑driven job displacement also feature prominently in their outlook.
