Generation Z shows rising bisexual identification in Spain

Recent sociological data in Spain indicates an increase in the identification of bisexual individuals, particularly among Generation Z. While various studies show different percentages, recent figures from the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS) and the Encuesta Social General Española (ESGE) suggest a rising trend in self-identification.

In March 2026, a study on sexuality reported that 5.3% of respondents identified as bisexual. Although different methodologies and survey periods make it difficult to establish a perfectly homogeneous statistical series, the data highlights a significant presence of bisexuality within the LGBTBI population.

Experts suggest this shift may not represent a sudden increase in bisexual individuals, but rather a reduction in social stigma, allowing younger generations to self-identify more openly than previous cohorts.
