Tencent Cloud launches DataBuddy AI data‑agent platform

At the Tencent Cloud AI Industry Application Conference on June 5, Tencent Cloud unveiled a new full‑stack data platform designed for Agentic AI. The upgrade adds three layers – a data‑intelligent agent called DataBuddy, the WeData data‑intelligence platform, and an AI‑native big‑data foundation. DataBuddy automates the entire data workflow: it can design data‑warehouse schemas, generate code, orchestrate pipelines, diagnose failures with AIOps, and produce governance reports, claiming up to an 80% reduction in manual effort and a 5–10× boost in productivity. The rollout targets the main bottleneck in AI adoption—insufficient, low‑quality data—highlighted by Gartner’s forecast that 60% of AI projects may be abandoned by 2026. Built on the WorkBuddy agent architecture, DataBuddy leverages Tencent’s years of data‑platform experience and integrates with WeData’s semantic layer to improve accuracy and reduce data‑quality issues across engineering, governance and analysis tasks.
