Genesis Group merges with pet nutrition company Proudi

Queensland-based algae producer Genesis Group has merged with premium pet nutrition company Proudi to expand its presence in the pet food market. The acquisition is expected to double Genesis Group’s revenue by integrating Proudi’s consumer brands and retail distribution channels into its existing operations in human nutritional supplements, livestock feed, and agricultural products.

Proudi’s YumGuard brand, which utilizes Chlorella—a freshwater algae grown in Australia—has seen year-on-year sales growth exceeding 300 per cent. The merger leverages Genesis Group’s research and manufacturing capabilities alongside Proudi’s established retail partnerships with Coles, Petbarn, and Pet Circle.

Genesis Group CEO Eric Chen stated that the acquisition strengthens the company’s commercial foundations, allowing it to scale its nutrition portfolio more rapidly. The company intends to integrate Chlorella into new and updated product formulations across its various business segments, including agriculture and human health, while pursuing international growth in Asian markets and negotiations for distribution in the United States.
