Genesis Magma Racing achieves best WEC result in Texas
Genesis Magma Racing achieved its best result to date at the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Lone Star Le Mans. Competing at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, the team’s #17 GMR-001 Hypercar finished in 7th place, securing the team's second points finish of the season.
Both Genesis entries completed the 6-hour race on the lead lap without mechanical failures, demonstrating high reliability. The #17 car was driven by André Lotterer, Filippo Delaterra, and Mathys Debrueur, while the #19 car finished in 15th place.
The race was won by Ferrari AF Corse (#50), followed by Cadillac (#38) in second and Alpine (#35) in third. Genesis utilized data from previous testing at the COTA circuit to manage tire wear and heat, which was critical given the track's challenging bumps and high temperatures.
The team plans to use the data gathered in Texas to prepare for the upcoming WEC Round 6, the Fuji 6 Hours race, scheduled for September 27 at Fuji Speedway in Japan.
