Genetec analyzes hybrid cloud migration in Colombia

In Colombia, the corporate sector is increasingly adopting hybrid cloud models to modernize physical security systems, such as video surveillance and access control. According to technology firm Genetec, this approach allows organizations to integrate remote services with local processing, protecting existing hardware investments while adding elastic storage and advanced analytics.

Many Colombian businesses in sectors like banking, retail, and public transport have historically relied on local servers and physical recorders due to concerns regarding internet connectivity and data breaches. The adoption of hybrid architectures offers a way to mitigate these risks while upgrading technical capabilities.

Genetec’s 2025 Electronic Security State Report indicates that 43% of organizations globally plan to implement hybrid models within the next five years. The report also notes that IT departments are playing a more decisive role in physical security purchasing decisions, driving convergence between cybersecurity and physical facility protection.
