German companies launch new cybersecurity and digital sovereignty tools
Several German companies have introduced new tools and services to address growing cybersecurity and digital sovereignty concerns. SecaSkill GmbH has launched a free online tool designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) estimate the potential financial impact of cyberattacks, such as business interruptions and reputational damage, based on their employee count.
A study conducted by Foundry and easy software AG in the DACH region reveals that over 60 percent of IT decision-makers prioritize digital sovereignty. Key concerns include IT security, data control, and avoiding vendor lock-in. Respondents identified cyberattacks and loss of data control as major risks associated with a lack of digital sovereignty.
Additionally, Pilz GmbH & Co. KG has introduced new industrial security services, SEM (Security Evaluation of Machinery) and SAM (Security Assessment of Machinery). These services aim to help companies identify and mitigate cyber risks in networked machinery, assisting with compliance for the EU Machinery Regulation and the Cyber Resilience Act.
