Genfarma secures GMP certification, boosting Vietnam's biotech capacity

Genfarma, a Vietnamese high‑tech biopharmaceutical company, received a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificate from the Drug Administration of the Ministry of Health. The certification confirms the plant meets WHO‑GMP and EU‑GMP standards, enabling the production of high‑quality biologics.

CEO Bui Le Khoa said, "GMP is a necessary condition for a modern pharmaceutical enterprise. We aim to master advanced biotechnologies, develop products that meet international standards, and expand treatment options for patients." The achievement is seen as a step toward reducing Vietnam’s reliance on imported monoclonal antibody drugs for cancer and autoimmune diseases.

Genfarma’s facility, built with automated, data‑driven systems, also serves as a research and development hub. In 2025 the company plans to receive technology transfer from Cuba’s BioCubaFarma, further strengthening its capability in antibody‑based therapies.
