Genie Boy Games announces horror simulator Sweetheart

Genie Boy Games has announced “Sweetheart,” a first-person narrative-driven horror game described as a “breakup simulator.” Revealed during the Future Games Show Live, the title is slated for release in 2027.

The story follows Gabe and Skylar Maxine, a couple who have been together since age 12. Now, after 15 years, Skylar is an A-list pop star living in a Hollywood Hills mansion. When Gabe decides to end the relationship, Skylar’s mental instability causes reality to warp, manifesting psychological horrors within their home.

Players will navigate shifting, labyrinthine rooms and liminal spaces, using stealth and exploration to survive Skylar’s psychological breaks. The game aims to explore themes of emotional dependency, abusive relationships, and the pressures of fame through a mix of horror and comedy.
