Gennaro Sangiuliano warns of Islamization in Naples

Gennaro Sangiuliano, former Minister of Culture and current leader of the Fratelli d'Italia (FdI) group in the Campania Region, has sparked controversy after posting a photo on social media. The image depicts a woman wearing a niqab in the center of Naples.

Sangiuliano captioned the post with the phrase, “Here is the danger of Islamization.” He noted that the photograph was taken in via Porta Nolana, near the Federico II University, and characterized the garment as a form of “oppression” and a “threat to national identity.”
