Gennaro Spinelli to lead Locamare Cetara

Gennaro Spinelli, a Lieutenant Commander with extensive experience in the Coast Guard, is set to take command of the Locamare in Cetara starting next Monday. Spinelli transitions from the General Command of the Port Authorities and brings significant familiarity with the Campania coastal region, having previously served as commander in Maiori and Massa Lubrense.

He succeeds Luigi Passaniti, who has led the Cetara station since 2021. Passaniti, a native of Cetara, will move to a new professional role within the Coast Guard in Amalfi. The leadership transition occurs amid increasing responsibilities for the Coast Guard in the area, including maritime safety, environmental protection, fishing and beach activity controls, and emergency management in a high-traffic tourist zone.
