Genoa C.F.C. won the first of two pre‑season friendlies in England, beating Leicester City 1‑0 at the King Power Stadium. Lorenzo Colombo scored the decisive goal in the 69th minute after a through ball from Meichtry. About 600 Genoa supporters were present, and the match featured officials Diego Lopez as Chief of Football and club CEO Andres Blazquez.

Leicester dominated early possession but Genoa held firm, with goalkeeper Bijlow making several key saves. After halftime the Genoa coach Daniele De Rossi rotated the entire lineup, increasing the team's attacking intensity. The next friendly is scheduled for 4 August against Bournemouth.
