Genoa FC resumes training as Johan Vasquez returns

Genoa Cricket and Football Club restarted its training sessions at the Signorini centre in Pegli after the summer break. Veteran defender Johan Vasquez, fresh from the World Cup with Mexico, rejoined the squad and participated in mixed drills and gym work.

Goalkeeper Justin Bijlow, who missed the recent friendly due to a left‑leg contusion, trained separately but is expected to return to the group soon. Coach Daniele De Rossi confirmed the schedule, noting upcoming pre‑season friendlies against Leicester City and Bournemouth in England, followed by a match with Deportivo La Coruña in Spain.

The club also announced ongoing ticket‑sale campaigns and preparations for the women's team, but the core focus remains the men's squad’s preparation for the new season.
