Genoa: Five-year-old child dies after falling from third floor

A five-year-old child has died after falling from a third-floor window in the Begato district of Genoa. The incident occurred around 12:30 PM on September 9, 2026.

Emergency responders, including firefighters, police, and medical teams, arrived at the scene immediately. Although paramedics managed to stabilize the child briefly, the severe trauma sustained in the fall proved fatal. The child's parents, who recently moved to the apartment, were hospitalized at Villa Scassi Hospital in a state of shock.

The Mobile Squad of the Genoa Police Headquarters is leading the investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the fall. Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and neighbors to establish whether the child was alone in the apartment at the time of the accident.
