Fugassa Festival draws 10,000 visitors to Genoa's Porto Antico

The inaugural Fugassa Festival, held at the Porto Antico in Genoa on September 26 and 27, drew nearly 10,000 visitors over two days. The event celebrated Genovese focaccia, featuring more than 10 stands and over 15 scheduled appointments, including tastings, show cooking, and educational talks.

Participants included bakers and producers from Liguria and five other Italian regions: Calabria, Tuscany, Puglia, Lombardy, and Piedmont. More than one ton of focaccia and other baked goods were consumed during the festival. Highlights included a sold-out children's workshop, historical tours organized by the Museo Diocesano di Genova, and a closing concert by I Trilli.

Alessandro Cavo, president of Confcommercio Genova, noted that the response exceeded expectations, highlighting the product's role as a vehicle for city promotion and cultural identity.
