Genoa hosts third ‘Kick War Away’ international peace event

The third edition of the international event ‘Kick War Away’ (Un Calcio alla Guerra) took place in Genoa, Italy, promoting peace, dialogue, and inclusion. Organized by the European Muslims League (EML) under the patronage of the World Organization of States – International Parliament for Safety and Peace (WOS-IPSP), the day featured a variety of activities.

The event began with an international football tournament at the San Desiderio sports field, involving local police, the International Municipal Team, and various community representatives. This was followed by a Peace March from Piazza Riccardo Rissotto to the Rina and Gilberto Govi Theater.

The closing ceremony included musical performances and the presentation of the ‘Peace Builders 2026’ awards. Notable international guests included Mustafa Ceric, the former Grand Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Reverend Canon Marco Baragli. An award was also presented to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, accepted by a diplomat from the Malaysian Embassy in Italy.
