Genoa man arrested after supermarket robbery attempt and assault

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in Genoa following an attempted robbery at an Esselunga supermarket in the San Benigno area. The suspect, who was already known to local law enforcement and supermarket staff for previous theft attempts, was intercepted by the store's deputy director.

During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly attacked the deputy director, biting him on the arm. The employee was transported to Galliera Hospital for treatment of a deep wound and remains under observation. The suspect maintained an aggressive demeanor even after the arrival of police officers and now faces charges of robbery, injury, and resisting a public official.
