Genoa to host “Nonno ascoltami!” hearing health event

The “Nonno ascoltami!” hearing health awareness campaign will return to Piazza Matteotti in Genoa on Sunday, October 4. The initiative, now in its seventeenth edition, aims to promote hearing health through direct public engagement and preventative care.

During the event, citizens can access free audiometric testing and consult with medical specialists. The medical teams are coordinated by Professor Giorgio Peretti from the University - Policlinico San Martino of Genoa and Dr. Marco Barbieri from the ASL 3 Liguria - Antero Micone Hospital. The campaign is organized by Udito Italia, a non-profit organization that is also a member of the World Health Organization’s World Hearing Forum.

The initiative involves collaborations with the Italian Red Cross and ACI, focusing on the link between hearing health and road safety. Local welfare officials noted that the event serves to build alliances between healthcare entities and local associations to improve public health culture.
