Genoa woman arrested for shoplifting and assaulting officer

A 38-year-old woman has been arrested in Genoa following a shoplifting incident in a clothing store on Via XX Settembre. According to the Polizia di Stato, security personnel observed the woman concealing items in a large bag.

When security attempted to intervene after anti-theft barriers were triggered, the woman allegedly pushed a security guard and attempted to flee. Upon the arrival of police officers, the situation escalated; the woman reportedly began kicking and flailing, during which she bit one of the responding officers.

The woman faces charges of robbery, aggravated injury, and resistance to a public official. The stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the owner.
