Genoa Women sign veteran Valentina Cernoia to boost Serie A promotion push

Genoa Women have secured the services of former Italy international Valentina Cernoia on a contract running until 2027. The 31‑year‑old midfielder, who previously played for Brescia, Juventus and Milan, brings a record of seven league titles, six Italian Cups and six Super Cups, as well as 78 caps and 14 goals for the national team. Her career includes over 400 professional appearances and regular participation in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The club, recently relegated to Serie B, announced the signing as a key move to strengthen the squad and aim for an immediate return to Serie A. Cernoia’s experience is expected to provide leadership on and off the pitch as Genoa targets promotion in the upcoming season.
