Genoa's Palazzo Ducale hosts Ponte Morandi photography exhibition
The photography exhibition “Gigi Cifali. Ponte Morandi: deconstructions” is currently on display at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa. Curated by Gianluigi Ricuperati, the exhibition features seven images from Cifali's 2020 series "Scomposizioni," which were captured inside the hangar where the remains of the Morandi Bridge were held under seizure.
The works focus on the physical materiality of the bridge's wreckage, presenting concrete blocks and steel cables as objects that exist between ruins and sculptures. One monumental piece, titled "CONCRETE EVIDENCE OF PROFIT BEFORE PEOPLE," uses the visual language of awareness campaigns to reflect on the relationship between public information, economic interests, and power dynamics.
