Genova protesters attacked during security walk in historic center

The group ‘Angeli del Centro Storico’ organized a security walk through the historic center of Genoa to demand improved safety, livability, and measures against urban decay and crime. Participants, many wearing white, marched through various squares and alleys to highlight issues such as drug dealing and petty crime.

During the event, organizers reported that protesters were attacked from behind by ‘antagonists’ near the stairs leading to via Andrea Doria. The group stated that the route had been modified in coordination with the police to avoid confrontations, but some demonstrators were still targeted. Law enforcement intervened to defend the participants and ensure security. The organizers have called on the Mayor and political leaders to condemn the violence against those exercising their right to peaceful protest.
