Genshin Impact 7.0 launches August 12, adding Snezhnaya region

HoYoverse announced that Genshin Impact version 7.0 will be released on 12 August 2026. The update opens the seventh nation of Teyvat, Snezhnaya, a cold, snow‑bound region linked by an extensive train network and home to the Fatui headquarters in Snezhnograd. A new Archon Quest explores a catastrophic blizzard and an energy crisis, rewarding up to 560 Primogems on completion.

Two new playable characters arrive: Odette, a 5‑star Cryo sword‑wielder and ballerina, and Alyosha, a 4‑star Electro polearm user. The update also adds a third‑person shooter mode with three new firearms, a new elemental reaction called Stellar Swirl (Anemo + Cryo), and the Eye of Graeae tool, which shields players from the extreme cold, summons trains and creates ice constructs for puzzles.

During the livestream, three redemption codes – Everwinter, OntoSnezhnaya and Odette0812 – were released, each granting 100 Primogems plus extra items. Codes require Adventure Rank 10 and expire within a day (by early August).
