Genshin Impact Version 7.1 to launch September 23 with new characters

HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact Version 7.1, titled ‘A Rekviem for the Underworld’, will launch on September 23. This major update coincides with the game’s sixth anniversary and features significant narrative developments in Snezhnaya.

Players will encounter the Tsaritsa to learn her motivations for collecting the Gnoses and face a new weekly boss, Ronova, the Ruler of Death. The story also involves key figures such as Dainsleif and Rhinedottir. New playable 5-star characters include Vesna, an Anemo Sword user, and Vodyanitsa, a Hydro Catalyst user, both of whom specialize in enhancing Stellar Swirl reactions.

To celebrate the sixth anniversary, HoYoverse is offering substantial rewards. Players who complete the new Archon Quests can choose one free 5-star character from a limited selection including Nilou, Clorinde, Baizhu, Tartaglia, Varesa, and Chiori. Additionally, a standard 5-star selector and various in-game items like Primogems and Intertwined Fates will be distributed. Other content includes the Moonchase Festival in Liyue and various limited-time events.
