Genshin Impact version 7.1 update set for September 23

HoYoverse has announced that the version 7.1 update for Genshin Impact, titled ‘A Requiem for the Underworld’, is scheduled for release on September 23, 2026. The update coincides with the game’s sixth anniversary.

Key content includes new Archon quests set in Snezhnaya, featuring the Tsaritsa and a new weekly boss, Ronova, the Sovereign of Death. The update will also introduce two new 5-star playable characters: Vesna, an Anemo sword user, and Vodyanitsa, a Hydro catalyst user. The second phase of the update is expected to feature Skirk and Escoffier.

To celebrate the sixth anniversary, players can participate in the return of the Moon Festival in Liyue. Rewards for the anniversary and related events include Protogems, Intertwined Fates, and a choice of a 5-star permanent character from the gacha pool.
