Geo suspends online services following unauthorized system access

Geo and its parent company, Second Retailing, have suspended various online services following the discovery of unauthorized access to their internal systems on October 15. To prevent secondary damage, emergency system maintenance began on October 17 at 21:00, with an end date currently undetermined.

The breach has impacted the Geo Online store, halting new orders and cancellations, as well as home delivery purchase and rental services. While physical stores remain open for sales, rentals, and trade-ins, the Geo app's membership functions are unavailable. Customers are advised to use physical or digital Ponta cards for identification and transactions at retail locations.

Geo is currently working with external security specialists to investigate the scope of the impact and determine the cause. As of the latest reports, the company has not confirmed whether personal information was leaked or specified the exact method used in the attack.
