GEODIS and FedEx expand electric truck fleets for global operations

Major logistics companies GEODIS and FedEx are significantly expanding their electric vehicle fleets to reduce carbon emissions and manage rising fuel costs.

GEODIS has ordered 110 heavy-duty 44-tonne electric trucks from Renault Trucks and Volvo Trucks for its European operations. Expected by May 2027, these vehicles will support urban and long-distance transport in France. To facilitate this, GEODIS is developing electric corridors and plans to increase its charging infrastructure from approximately 60 points to over 200 by 2030.

FedEx has placed a $300 million order for 2,000 medium-duty electric trucks from Harbinger Motors. Scheduled for delivery by the end of 2027, the vehicles will be used for parcel operations across the United States and Canada. This commitment follows FedEx’s previous investment in Harbinger and aligns with the company’s goal to transition all parcel delivery vehicle purchases to electric by 2030.
