Geoffrey Watling Charity reaches £11m milestone in Norfolk and Waveney

The Geoffrey Watling Charity has reached a milestone of distributing more than £11 million in grants to various good causes across Norfolk and Waveney.

Geoffrey Watling, a businessman known as ‘Mr Norwich City’ for his role in saving Norwich City Football Club from bankruptcy and leading them to the top flight, established the trust in 1993. Following his death in 2004, the majority of his estate was bequeathed to the charity to continue his philanthropic work.

Alexandra Haswell has recently succeeded Alan Watling as the chairman of the trustees.
