Geomdan District Council inspects welfare and childcare facilities

The Geomdan District Council in Incheon has conducted field inspections of local welfare facilities to address growing demands for disability services and childcare infrastructure.

On October 4, Council Chair Kim Nam-won and Council Member Na Seon-hee visited disability vocational rehabilitation facilities and the Geomdan Eoullim Welfare Center. Discussions focused on enhancing economic independence for people with disabilities through improved job training, stable work volume procurement, and better links to local businesses. The council also emphasized the importance of a community-centered integrated care system that connects medical, nursing, and welfare services to help individuals live stably within their communities.

Additionally, Chair Kim Nam-won inspected the Dahamkke Care Center on October 3 to evaluate childcare services for elementary school students. Due to rapid population growth and new residential developments in the Geomdan area, the council highlighted the need to expand childcare infrastructure. Currently, nine centers are operational in the district, with plans to add seven more to meet the increasing demand from young families.
