Geomdan-gu launches child pedestrian safety campaign

Incheon's Geomdan-gu district conducted the ‘Children First’ traffic safety campaign on the 16th near Mokhyang Elementary School in Bullo-dong. The initiative aimed to prevent traffic accidents and create safer commuting routes for children, particularly in areas near apartment construction sites.

Approximately 50 participants, including representatives from the Geomdan-gu Office, Incheon Metropolitan Council, safety wardens, and Jeil Construction Co., Ltd., took part in the event. They provided guidance to students on safe walking practices, such as checking for vehicles before crossing crosswalks and avoiding smartphone use while walking.

The campaign also targeted parents and drivers, promoting the importance of slowing down and coming to a complete stop within school zones to foster a culture of pedestrian safety.
