Geordie Greep unveils plans for ambitious three‑hour second album

Geordie Greep, former Black Midi guitarist, announced on Instagram that his forthcoming second solo album will be a three‑hour work intended to be "100 times as good" as his debut, The New Sound. He described the project as an all‑encompassing showcase of his musical influences and said he hopes to record it quickly, in a two‑day "ECM‑style" session. The album follows a one‑album deal with Rough Trade Records that released his 2024 debut, and comes after a 2026 European and Asian tour.

In August 2026 Greep performed a two‑hour set at The Rechabite in Australia, playing material from The New Sound and extending it with jazz‑fusion improvisations. Reviewers noted his use of a fluid backing band, including session musicians from Brazil and Australia, and highlighted the energetic, genre‑blending live experience.
