Georg Georgiev claims GERB remains a key political partner

Former Foreign Minister and MP Georg Georgiev stated in an interview with BNR that the GERB party remains a desirable partner for all political actors in Bulgaria. He emphasized that any politician seeking significant influence must contend with Boyko Borisov and that governing parties often use GERB as a benchmark.

Addressing the decision not to nominate a specific presidential candidate tandem, Georgiev clarified that this was not a failure to participate. He noted that support for a presidential duo requires political dialogue and cannot be given unsolicited.

Georgiev also criticized other right-wing parties, accusing them of sabotaging the campaign of Gyurow and focusing attacks on GERB rather than the primary opponent. He suggested that behind-the-scenes negotiations are occurring among various political factions regarding the upcoming elections.
